Poem: “No Economist Would Sign It”
No CPA would sign it.
No CFO would back it.
No economist would touch it.
But Congress passed it anyway.
They drafted a bill in closed-door sessions,
Without economists’ learned expressions.
Ignored the data, the fiscal decay,
Yet claimed prosperity was on its way.
Tax cuts for the wealthy, cuts to the poor,
A budget that’s rotten down to its core.
No hearings held, no experts heard,
Just partisan agendas undeterred.
No CPA would sign it.
No CFO would back it.
No economist would touch it.
But Congress passed it anyway.
Medicaid slashed, SNAP on the line,
While corporate pockets continue to shine.
The deficit balloons, the debt ascends,
But they assure us it all depends.
On trickle-down myths and market spins,
Ignoring the losses, counting the wins.
No balance sheets, no audits done,
Just political theater under the sun.
No CPA would sign it.
No CFO would back it.
No economist would touch it.
But Congress passed it anyway.
They say it’s beautiful, a fiscal feat,
But the numbers don’t lie, they can’t be beat.
Projections show a grim descent,
Yet they proceed, money misspent.
Economists warn, Nobel minds dissent,
But their advice is met with contempt.
The bill moves forward, unchecked, unwise,
While truth is masked by crafted lies.
No CPA would sign it.
No CFO would back it.
No economist would touch it.
But Congress passed it anyway.
In boardrooms, such acts would face arrest,
For negligence, fraud, and all the rest.
But in Congress, accountability lacks,
As they push forward with partisan hacks.
We, the people, must take a stand,
Demanding truth, a guiding hand.
For governance should serve us all,
Not just the few who make the call.
No CPA would sign it.
No CFO would back it.
No economist would touch it.
But Congress passed it anyway.
